As a respected NDIS provider, Acquaintance Care places great importance on the core values of trust, respect, empathy, and integrity. Our commitment as a registered NDIS provider is to empower participants and honour their right to autonomy.

Our team of compassionate support workers is fully devoted to providing outstanding disability support services. We are here to support individuals in achieving their goals and ensuring they receive the highest level of care and support they rightfully deserve.

A: The NDIS will provide all Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to enjoy an ordinary life.

A: The NDIS will help people with disability achieve their goals. This may include greater independence, community involvement, employment and improved wellbeing.

A: As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

A: The NDIS also provides people with disability, their family and carers with information and referrals to existing support services in the community.

A: An eligible person can become an NDIS participant in several ways, such as:

1) You can apply to the NDIS by calling 1800 800 110 to make a verbal application.

2) Completing an Access Request Form online or by mail, or even by contacting your local NDIS office.

3) Providing supporting documents to prove:

Your age Your Australian citizenship or permanent residency You live in Australia permanently Evidence of your disability Providing proof of disability for children (where applicable)
4) Get help from NDIS service providers like Acquaintance Care, where we will help you become an active participant with the specific services that you require.

We offer a range of services including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short-Term Accommodation (STA), Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA), and more. Our goal is to provide personalized support tailored to each individual’s needs.

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL):
    Support for individuals to live as independently as possible in their own or shared accommodation. This includes help with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and personal care, either 24/7 or as needed.

  • Short-Term Accommodation (STA) / Respite:
    Temporary stays in a safe and supportive environment, giving participants a chance to experience new surroundings while offering carers a break. Includes meals, activities, and daily personal support.

  • Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA):
    Transitional housing for participants who are waiting for permanent housing or home modifications. It ensures continuity of care in a stable, accessible environment.

  • Community Access Support:
    Assists individuals in getting involved in social, recreational, and educational activities. Whether it’s attending events, going to appointments, or joining community groups, we support participants to stay active and connected.
